According to many of our visitors, the building is the
most spectacular and unique tourism building in the
world. So, stop in, see what the hype is all
about, grab a coffee, and be amazed at
what our region has to offer you!
Hosting over 25,000 visitors annually, the Tourism
Discovery Centre is more than just a place to stop and
stretch your legs. It is home to an amazing compilation
of artifacts from the Cariboo Chilcotin which are
cleverly placed in the Centre's interactive displays.
This 14,000 square foot building soars at over 55 feet
tall and keeps a 750 year old western red cedar log with
root-mass intact, safe within its walls.
You can make your holiday plans from the Centre, or
decide to stay for a few days and enjoy what Williams Lake
has to offer. The Centre was designed for you, the tourist,
so you will fi nd plenty to do to keep you and your
family busy. You may fi nd yourself posing in a kayak or
mountain bike in the "Big Picture" display or you may
wish to watch the multimedia show in "Lodge Life",
our comfortable replica tourist lodge exhibit. The gift
store showcases locally produced goods and is the
perfect spot to pick up local art and souvenirs.
Along with the amazing displays and bundles of
information, you'll also fi
nd additional amenities
including washrooms, free public computers, wireless
internet, refreshments, snacks, and friendly staff
... not to mention an extensive park-
ing lot to accommodate any size of
motor home or tour bus.
