One destination, four options
The Central Cariboo is becoming an excellent destination for a golf
vacation in BC's interior. Mixed in with forests, wildlife, and rolling
hills are four courses offering spectacular views for beginners and
professionals. The golf season usually runs from April to the end
of October, providing
fresh spring games,
long summer rounds,
and many colorful autumn days
on the fairways
Located fi ve minutes from downtown Williams Lake is the
Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club which offers a friendly golf
experience for seasoned and new golfers. This 18
hole, par 71 championship course carries a
BCGA rating of 69 and is one of the fi nest
courses around. Annual tournaments,
putting greens, chipping and driving
ranges, and tennis courts welcome
everyone. Also located at the course
is a licensed restaurant with a fantastic
view of the City and a pro-shop fi lled
with plenty of golf and tennis gear to
keep your games at their peak.
Ten minutes away from the City
Centre is Bell-e-Acres which offers
a par three, 11 hole course and an
18 hole mini golf course. On top of
the golfi ng, the site has a horseshoe
pit, BBQ facility, and a sheltered
picnic area perfect for an afternoon
of family fun.
For a unique and informal game of golf,
head out of Williams Lake on Dog Creek
road to the Fireman's Fairways. This is a
community operated 11 hole, par 3 course
at the Chimney Lake Fire Hall. Chimney
Lake also offers public beaches, boat
launches and campsites.
New to the area is a golf development by
the Williams Lake Indian Band just south
of Williams Lake on Highway 97. This
course will include a 9-hole master's
executive golf course that will
complement the existing Chief William
Campsite, Heritage Site and Gas Bar.
